A NEW “PONT DES ARTS” IN YALA’s LANDSCAPE

It has just been completed few days ago. A new and remarkable landmark has risen in Southern Thailand’s scenery.

THE BEAUTIFUL FLOWER OF PATANI is a 10 meters long by 4 meters high mural done with free-hand black painting on the wall supporting the Black Bridge, a spectacular metallic railway structure. Graciously offered by the Local Government of Yala, the white wall has now become a new space for local artists and street art painters from Bangkok to collaborate on the creation of a powerful and meaningful piece of art.

For that purpose, Addulhakim Yosuf (FB: Bunga Melayu Patani), whose exhibition “INVENTORUM NATURA’ at Ananta Kama Gallery was a great success, oversized his fantastic drawings inspired by Southern Thailand traditional wooden sculptures to obtain a gigantic and intricate new flora. His scrolls and wild leaves send a lush and curvaceous answer to the stiff and angular upper metal structures.

TRK (FB: Thun Trk Puchpen) among others artists from Bangkok  included at the left end of this virtual liana bridge the giant portrait of the Perfect White Elephant offered to His Majesty King Rama IX, by the people of Southern Thailand.

Let’s read the beautiful Art Junction as a nice symbol of Peace, Unity and Good will between people. We already knew that the train could give people the physical possibility to meet each other. With THE BEAUTIFUL FLOWER OF PATANI, Artists made visible the natural, strong and glittering link that flows between all of us, especially needed in those troubled times.
